DINA DIGEST 02/03: What's going on down at DINA!

Welcome to this week's run down of all things going off at our place. Firstly a reminder that our deadline for those who want to take on the fantastic opportunity of running our cafe is on Friday March 13. All in the information about it is in the blog post here. Right, so onto this week's events and we have some very good friends of the venue hosting a booty shaking party as part of SheFest 2020, and not one but two offerings of Drum and Bass over the weekend.

On Saturday March 7, Girl Gang Sheffield are back with a celebration of all things menstrual! A night of dancing, singing, playing games (pin the ovary on the Fallopian tube anyone?), cake and a dressing up competition with prizes given for the best period inspired outfit! The night is part of SheFest 2020 and in collaboration with Dig Deep, a charity working to combat menstrual stigma in Kenya. They will be collecting menstrual products for local charity Campaign Against Period Poverty (CAPP), so get your bathroom cupboards raided! Now, to those of you of a D&B disposition and well... you're being spoiled this forthcoming weekend. Starting off on Friday with Bluga x Arc Audios presenting a two-room takeover.

In the Cellar, Jack Danz and the whole Bluga gang are bringing the realest in hiphop and DnB, whilst in the main room, Arc Audios serve up heavyweight beats and jungle from Sheffield's rawest talents. This night is paper tickets only, available from Balance on Devonshire Street and Golden Harvest on Abbeydale Road. For all the info, check out the Facebook event page here.

Onto Saturday and the unique and intimate atmosphere of our Cellar plays host to Anomalies, with a long play selector's special featuring two firm favourites - Pod Imiya and Soyboi - for an extended set from each. From holding down the main stage at Rupture to recently stealing the show with an outstanding set at License to Jungle, Pod is straight-up one of the best DnB DJs in the North. At the latter, it became very clear that only a peak-time slot will do justice to her unique brand of emotional demolition. Drawing as much inspiration from Chicago and Berlin as from the UK, Soyboi's head-spinning blend of jungle, footwork, and 4-4 kicks is way ahead of the curve. For more info and tickets check out the Facebook event page here. The event is capped at 55, and there will be no tickets reserved for the door. So that rounds up this week's events! Keep your eyes peeled soon too for an announcement about a pretty damn large project we have been working on for quite some time and are just about ready to unleash! Also, we are still looking for tenants for three of our studios on the top floor of the building, for all the info pleas click here. Have a great week! Joey.
