About the Event

Little Amal is a 3.5 metre-tall puppet, walking across the European continent to shine a light on the stories of millions of young refugees.

Amal will travel through 8 countries and across 8000 kilometres of terrain, welcomed by hundreds of cultural events in cities, towns and villages along the route. She will walk for all the children – many unaccompanied and separated from their families – who are forced to undertake extraordinary journeys under life-threatening conditions. Little Amal will walk so that we don’t forget them.

Working with local communities across the city Quotes For Hope will see new contributions many in our community languages welcoming Amal to the city and underlining the importance of supporting refugees during, and at the end of their journeys, seeking sanctuary.

There will be children's workshops in Tudor Square, breadmaking with Global Mamma, and fresh food. Come and join in from 2pm!

We would like to particularly thank Globalmama and Sunshine Pizzas for supporting this project with their time, skills and generous equipment loan of equipment.
