About the Event

How I See Myself and How Others See Me is an ethnographic multimedia project that explores identity, self and the multiplicity of womanhood. It unpicks the costumes women often have to wear in life and asks who we are, or want to be, when that costume comes off. These questions are explored through poetry and photography. Every poem features words spoken in conversation over coffee and cake by each participant. Each photo is collaborative, often placed and styled by the participants themselves.

The project is led by Wemmy Ogunyankin. A visual anthropologist, poet, photographer and filmmaker with a special interest in identity, womanhood, blackness, vulnerability and social justice.

Join us for the opening party on Saturday 5th of March from 5pm in the bar, meet the artist and check out the amazing work :-)

We're excited to have Amina Haruna DJing in the bar from 8pm - 10pm!  https://www.instagram.com/aminaminaa/
